Decided to play with some Threadripper 7995WX Pro today on the newly released Y-Cruncher Pi-BBP benchmark available at benchmate.org. Also wanted a chance to test out the Enermax Revolution D.F.X. 1650W power supply my partner Enermax was kind enough to provide. As expected there were no issues even after hammering it all day at 1450+ watts.
If you haven't played with a high-end Threadripper motherboard like the ASRock WRX90 WS EVO I am using, it feeds the CPU VRM using not only 2×8-pin CPU power connections but also 2×6-pin PCIe connections. The more you know. 😄
End of the day, took home the world record for the 1B, 10B, and 100B Y-Cruncher Pi-BBP categories — three world records on water cooling.
